Some people's kids...

So, today at work a family of three came in...a mom, a son (around 9 years of age) who was walking an older Cocker Spaniel, and a daughter (around the age of 14) walking a Cock-a-Poo puppy that looked to be about 6 months or so. They seemed fairly average enough, until I noticed the daughter becoming more and more agitated by the slightest thing the puppy would do. Given enough time I knew I was sure to see something unpleasant. Sure enough, the skeletons came walking out of the closet in broad daylight...
Right in front of me the daughter kicks the puppy in the head... why you might ask??? For barking twice at another dog he was trying to play with. It gets worse. Throughout their time in the store the daughter continued with her chosen forms of punishment... and by the time they were at the front ready to check out, the bratty child had a total of five corrections: three hard smacks to the puppy's face (so hard that he was knocked off of his paws), and two kicks to the head (that sent him rolling across the floor).
Being in my training uniform and on the clock, I could do nothing but give her a very pissed off (and slightly threatening) look and walk away before I smacked that bitch just as hard as she had done to that poor puppy. I'm also EXTREMELY irked by the mother, who, through all of this, stood there and did absolutely NOTHING!!! Let it be known that if the girl were MY daughter, I would have popped her so hard that she would've never even raised her voice the wrong way to another dog, in her life!
But, she's not my child, and those poor dogs aren't in my protective care. However... karma's a bitch best served by God. :)
