Pitbull (and dog) lovers:
I just want to do a shout out to Villalobos Rescue Center... the largest Pitbull rescue in the world. Tia, you and your family (courageous parolees included) are incredible!!! You have all provided happy endings for dogs from a breed that is so misunderstood. Even if the pitties live their entire lives at your wonderful facility, they are living better lives than they were in the places that they came from.
Without a doubt, the world is a better place with all of you helping out as much as you do. Hopefully you will continue to inspire more and more people to support this wonderful breed! I'm very emotionally tied to your work, because my two girls are rescues, and one is a pit mix, and as anyone who knows me can attest, my girls are my children. I would die for them. Also, they tend to live a bit of a spoiled life... (she typed while sitting on the couch with Abby {pit/lab mix} and Khya {American White Shepherd} crashed on either side of her under their own berkshire blankets...) :-D
I myself have saved a few dogs from being put up for court ordered executions and the majority were pitbulls. My biggest success story is Roadie, owned by Lisa Sherman (no relation), who fell into a bad situation when an asshole of a neighbor decided to harass Roadie by hitting him with the butt of his rifle again and again, for no reason, on NUMEROUS occasions! There's so much more to this story, but the important thing is this: Roadie has a wonderfully loving family, and will now live a long and happy life! I love you guys! (Hi to Kayla as well!)
For those of you following this blog, please share any photos or stories of your babies that you would like! The more happy stories out there, the higher the chance for a good life other misunderstood dogs will have. God bless all of you out there who are helping to make the world a better, safer place to live in for not only us, but our pets as well!!! Thank you!
I remember that Roadie story. Good on ya, Bud!
